Drumming with Omi Oni |

Take a rhythm walk with the Drum Woman.
Linda Thomas Jones (Iya Omi Oni) engages participants in the language of the African drum through listening exercises and rhythm walks. This stimulating experience sparks creativity and imagination while emphasizing cooperation, concentration, focus, and listening skills. You will be inspired as you feel the rhythm of traditional African drumming and learn the importance of working together. Ms. Thomas Jones is an African drummer --a skill historically reserved for men. With over 30 years of experience, Linda is a multitalented international performer. She is the former director of Ibu Ayan, an ensemble of female musicians dancers and singers. Linda has also presented programs through the Arts in Education Program, Young Audiences, Alliance for Education as well as many schools and universities throughout the United States. She is also a recording artist and composer. You don't want to miss this opportunity to work with this outstanding artist. |
